Personal Manifesto

In this revision, I focused on directly consulting feedback from the first time I submitted this work. My first Manifesto was submitted in a video format, but due to the shorter time frame for this revision it is in the format of a story board, where the script is lined up with the selected visuals. I altered the backing and grounds of the Manifesto, working specifically to make the argument more compelling. Additionally, I aimed to define a more specific audience, of which being households and parents with enough money to switch to an electric vehicle. I feel that these revisions help to put forth a more effective and compelling Manifesto, which comes across with more passion and urgency than the first time around. I am very passionate about the need for the world to transition to electric cars/sustainable energy, and I believe that this revised version helps to better assert that view and convince others to join the cause.

Auto/Biography of Place

For this piece, I focused my revisions specifically on the comparison of perspectives, which was mentioned throughout the feedback I received initially. I worked on making the connection between the two perspectives more clear, and more meaningful to the overall structure and nature of this piece.

Individual Revision - IJ16 Technical Drawing

For this revision, I chose to remake one of my old IJ entries to revisit the skill of technical drawing. In IJ16, I created a technical drawing of one wall in my dorm room. After first semester came to a close, I was moved out of Maple Hall into Spruce Hall, so I decided that in remaking this technical drawing it would be appropriate to model it after my new room that I've lived in all of this second semester.

Shown to the right is the revised drawing of my new room. I feel that one of the most valuable skills I have attained from IDEAS is this skill of technical drawing. As a mechanical engineering major, I will definitely be working more with drawings like this in the near future, so I am very glad that I was given the opportunity to learn this at this point in my education.

The piano piece above has a more moody and dim tone to it, representing some of the more challenging assignments/due dates I've had to complete this year. The Auto/Biography of Place and Personal Manifesto assignments both were pretty difficult for me to grind through at times, and the minor/diminished sound of this piece resonates some of this struggle. This year in IDEAS has brought it's difficulties, but overall I've felt a dominating sense of creative freedom and expression. I've felt the freedom to explore the things that interest me most, and IDEAS has led me to find a true sense of passion for gaining understanding and seeking knowledge. Aside from the larger assignments in IDEAS, my IJ pages highlight more of this exploration in understanding over the course of this year.
