Sand and Slag Physical Model
Handmade physical model made from recyclable materials inspired by The People of Sand and Slag science fiction novelette.
This model was inspired by a scene in the novel where a living biological dog is found in a slag pit; an incredibly rare sight as in this story all humans have converted to an immortal non-human state of being. The dotted line represents the path the dog follows as it runs away from these non-humans. The title 'A Dimension Lost' highlights the fact that the depiction of this scene falls into a 2D representation, but on a deeper level mentions that in converting life into a non-biological immortal state, you are losing a dimension of life itself in the process.
CAD Model - Nitrogen Capsule
This SketchUp model shows the first iteration of a new innovative method of putting out wildfires. The capsule shown in theory would contain liquid nitrogen to be dispersed on a large-scale fire, dropped from an aircraft. This was one of the first design iterations for my Team Design Project in Module 4 of this year.
